The Veil Covenant

The Veil Covenant is Lysvar's discipline of selective revelation. It binds the realm to protect sanctuaries, conceal vulnerable roads, guide those under guestlight, and answer threats without making the whole woodland visible. In elder songs it is beautiful: shelter given without conquest, mercy guarded from greedy eyes. In practice it is hard law. Maps are burned, paths forgotten, careless tongues exiled from trust, and some pleas refused because too many lives follow one open road. The Covenant is old enough to feel sacred and costly enough to make kindness tremble.
