Order
The Flintwardens
Also known as Wardens of Spark and Tunnel.
Lore
The Flintwardens ride ahead of law and behind disaster. They read smoke, hoof-cut, grass bend, storm shadow, bird silence, and the nervousness of horses before settled folk know fear has entered the country. Their cloaks are dark with rain and ash. Their saddlebags carry signal cords, spare shoes, water markers, ration tablets, and little mercy for chiefs who ignore warnings. They are loved because they arrive before ruin. They are feared because they see which halls delayed, which roads failed, and which proud men sent excuses instead of riders. Their order claims circuits older than several standing halls, marked first by cairns, then by burned posts, then by red cord on shelter beams. Every generation inherits the same lesson: the warning that arrives too late is only grief with a horse under it.
