The Day of Broken Banners

The Day of Broken Banners was the collapse that taught Ordran disorder kills faster than cowardice. Rival commanders advanced under incompatible signals, reserves waited for orders that never matched, civilians were left exposed, and banners fell into mud before anyone knew whose plan had failed. The dead gave the Red Standard Code its founding warning: one realm cannot survive eleven private plans. The event is old now, but its lesson remains sharp. Ordran built much of its greatness over those graves, and much of its fear too.
