Rovan of the Marches is a ranger-captain of the Varric north, carrying a disputed inheritance he refuses to spend cheaply. He knows ruined milestones, hidden courts, and the old legal roads better than any living prince. His road-name, Ash-Mile, marks a childhood spent among burned mileposts rather than settled halls.
