Caedric Marovan is a Caerdun shield-captain assigned to the Dawnward Company as protection, witness, and quiet claim of state interest. He is brave, courteous, and dangerously trained to believe that great tools belong in disciplined hands. His Marovan name gives him court access and a burden of expectation: every failure becomes evidence against the house that sent him.
