Veyrwatch

Veyrwatch rises in signal spires, drafting halls, rain-dark squares, foundry yards, and towers where roads are designed like weapons. Its stones are old, but its noise is young every morning: hammers, whistles, marching boots, saws, carts, engines, shouted measures, and bells that divide work from command. A square there can become a drill ground in an hour. A workshop can become an armoury before sunset. Visitors see banners and clean geometry. Citizens hear the engines beneath them, and know that beauty in Veyrwatch is rarely allowed to stand idle. Its oldest districts still keep stones blackened by the first signal fires, reminders that every improvement began as fear given architecture. The city saves lives, but it also teaches citizens to hear command in every bell.
