The Iron Muster Seal

The Iron Muster Seal authorises emergency service under the Red Standard Code. Its mark can summon carts, masons, surgeons, scouts, reserve blades, timber, bridge crews, and winter labour before ordinary permission can arrive. The seal is kept oiled, locked, witnessed, and feared. Each impression moves quickly and accuses slowly, because every red order may later stand before the Road Courts as evidence. It is a small piece of iron with an ancient lesson inside it: a realm that can call everything must also answer for everything.
