The Glasswind Road

The Glasswind Road is an ice route of cutting light, repaired markers, buried danger, and old accusations. It connects Nhalgrin's inland camps with salt, iron, allies, and enemies desperate enough to trust a Nhalgrin guide. In clear weather it shines blue-white and almost holy. In whiteout it eats distance, sound, courage, and names. Marker crews, Rimewarden patrols, sled teams, scouts, and bone-circle keepers work it before every dark season because one missing post can doom a child or save an army from pursuit. The road teaches the central law: no clan reaches spring alone, but some debts begin with survival.
