The Burning of the High Vault was the disaster when a treasury-gallery caught fire during a siege alarm and destroyed records, heirlooms, relief stores, and emergency wealth meant to sustain the outer halls. Dovarim endured, but the loss turned arguments over sealed treasure into arguments over survival. Some remember negligence, others sabotage, and neither memory has cooled. The event smells in old accounts of smoke, hot metal, scorched vellum, burning cloth, and panic in stone corridors. It taught Dovarim that hoarded wealth can die uselessly if no one can reach it in time.
