The Bridle Seal
Also known as Seal of the Golden Reins.
Lore
The Bridle Seal authorises full muster, road closure, and emergency arbitration between Surayan houses. It is stamped in wax mixed with salt dust so every order carries a trace of the roads that pay for it. The seal is kept under witnesses because one mark can call riders, close a ford, delay a caravan, or turn a feud into exile from the shared plain. Beautiful in bronze and dreadful in consequence, it reminds every proud house that freedom on the grass still has a public rein. Its cost is felt whenever a stamped closure saves a road but strands a caravan, or a muster order protects the plain by taking sons before harvest. The seal is older than many present road houses, and each generation keeps it because scattered freedom needs at least one mark all riders still recognise.
