Seren Valewick rides the Northward Road as if every mile were a witness under her protection. She commands a wide Greycloak circuit and is known for finding lost caravans, missing heirs, inconvenient bodies, and truths people hoped the snow had buried. Her cloak smells of horse sweat, pine smoke, and wet leather. She supports restoration only if the roads strengthen before banners rise. Seren's loyalty is not soft, but it is clear: she belongs to the next village that will die if law arrives late, and to the rider who must carry that law through sleet. She rides past graves older than some keeps and knows how many modern quarrels are only old failures wearing new cloaks. Her courage is costly because every village she reaches means another she may not, and every rescue leaves a road behind her unguarded.
