Malvek Varkesh commands Drazakar's field armies with the cold confidence of a man who prefers logistics to speeches. He wins by making retreat impossible for enemies and inconvenient for his own officers. His maps smell of ash, grease pencil, rain-stained leather, and ration smoke. Malvek's cruelty is rarely impulsive; it has usually been scheduled, supplied, and given a road. He is dangerous because he understands that terror without grain collapses, while grain without terror may learn to ask questions. His victories are efficient, and that is their deepest horror. His command culture is pure Drazakar: unit rolls, road law, punishment tables, oath officers, ration witnesses, and banners arranged so fear can travel faster than rumour.
