Kharomul Eastveil

Kharomul Eastveil belongs to the space between a safe road and the moment it proves false. He rides beyond fixed walls, letting dust columns, false campfires, missing scouts, and delayed messengers do half the killing before steel arrives. Surayan understands his patience with distance: the knowledge that grass, ford, sun-post, and remount can turn a retreat into a long confession. Drazakar understands the terror he lends to campaign order, because dread that travels ahead of armies makes later commands easier to obey. Kharomul smells of dry reeds, horse sweat, cold ash, oiled bowstrings, and dawn air before heat rises. He does not need to surround an enemy at once. He teaches them that the horizon has chosen sides, then lets fear do the riding.
