Character
Durnak Vordek
Also known as The Iron Speaker.
Lore
Durnak Vordek is a hall-speaker built from urgency, iron, and rain. His voice carries through the Ember Moot when war bands, rescue rides, and border duties are argued over smoking coals. He trusts horse numbers more than heroic boasts and has no patience for chiefs whose tables are warm while scouts change mounts outside in the dark. Durnak's authority comes from saying hard things early enough to matter. His danger is the oldest danger in Keldrun: that necessary speed may become permanent command, and a man who saved the road may begin to think he owns it. He knows the cost of a delayed order is not measured in pride but in widows, dead horses, hungry children, and scouts left bleeding beside roads that needed him sooner.
