Auric Deep

Auric Deep is Dovarim's richest working depth, where warm vents breathe around bright ore seams and unstable stone waits above praise songs. Its galleries smell of heat, mineral dust, sweat, lamp oil, wet rope, and fear carefully hidden under work chants. The mine sustains the Vein Tithe and tempts every faction that wants leverage over the Moot. Miners know the truth beneath the songs: praise does not hold a ceiling up. Auric Deep is beautiful because the mountain seems to open its heart there. It is dreadful because hearts can collapse. Its war crews shore ceilings for soldiers, release ore for armories, ration lamp oil for miners, and send stretcher teams into warm dark when the mountain shifts without warning.
