Thorak Crownshard

Thorak Crownshard carries a broken royal token and the dangerous certainty that history has been waiting for him to arrive. His warriors follow because he makes lost halls feel close enough to touch: not legends under dust, but doors that might open if enough blood, labour, and pride are spent against them. Dovarim understands the ache in him. Treasure there is never only gold; it is proof that the dead built something the living must either honour or betray. Thorak's greatness and flaw share one root. He cannot bear to leave a stolen thing unrecovered, even when recovery may cost stores meant for winter, soldiers needed at other gates, or alliances too patient to survive his urgency. He smells of old bronze, cold stone, ceremonial oil, and dust from vaults he has not yet seen. In him, reclamation becomes almost holy—and therefore dangerous.
