Maltok RedMarket believes war is only trade with fewer lies. He arrives with debt papers, mercenary oaths, ransom prices, ration auctions, cheap charms, useful maps, and a smile that makes desperate captains hate themselves before they sign. Drazakar can use him because conquest always needs someone willing to turn suffering into supply without blushing. The hungrier warbands understand him because he never pretends loyalty is cleaner than payment. Maltok smells of copper coins, old blood, damp wool, spiced smoke, mule sweat, and ink drying over bad news. Commanders curse his terms and pay them anyway, which is why he survives.
